Research

The current state of research was presented at the 12th International Workshop on Modeling of Mantle Convection and Lithospheric Dynamics hosted by Postdam GFZ in Groß Dölln Germany. A poster presentation was made and well received.

My scientific compuation project's final report has been posted. The final report covers the derivation, compuational methods, and error analysis for the numerical Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method.

Below is a preliminary animation of a warm crystal convecting heat in a cold liquid. The simulation is performed by a Fortran implementation of the Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method for the heat equation with an advection term.

My scientific computation project's midyear report has been posted. The first half of the project was focuses on merging two existing Boundary Element Method solvers. The code was cleaned and optimized in preparation for adding Dual Reciprocity Code.

I am currently working on my Ph.D. with Professor Saswata Hier-Majumder in the Department of Geology at the University of Maryland. My research is focused on computational fluid dynamics with applications to geophysics. Ultimately, I will develop a modular, optimized, and highly scalable library for solving partial differential equations using the Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element method. This will allow for complex modeling of magma oceans.
